GHK-Cu peptide has been examined in limited research settings for its potential role in experimental models related to altered skin texture, including the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. In a 12-week study conducted by Leyden et al., the use of GHK-Cu was associated with observed changes in skin laxity and wrinkle depth within the stratum corneum. These observations suggested a possible trend toward improved skin texture when compared with a control compound. The study also noted an apparent increase in skin density and thickness in photodamaged skin relative to the control group.

In a subsequent investigation by the same research group, the effects of GHK-Cu were compared with those of a control formulation and vitamin K over an additional 12-week period. Within the parameters of the study, GHK-Cu was associated with greater observed reductions in epidermal wrinkling than the control group. Consistent with prior findings, the peptide was again associated with measurable changes in skin density and thickness. These findings are limited to the conditions of the studies conducted and do not establish clinical outcomes.
